And Can It Be That I Should Gain - C. Wesley
And can it be that I should gain
An int'rest in the Savior's blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain?
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! how can it be
That Thou, my God, should die for me?

The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy *catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Psalm 95:1-11, p. 467
Westminster Shorter Catechism (#49-52)
M. Which is the second commandment?
P. The second commandment is: You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, punishing the children for the iniquity of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to thousands who love me and keep my commandments.
M: What are the duties required in the second commandment?
P: The second commandment requires us to receive, observe, and keep pure and entire all such religious worship and ordinances as God has appointed in his Word.
M: What is forbidden in the second commandment?
P: The second commandment forbids the worship of God by images, or any other way not appointed in his Word.
M: What are the reasons attached to the second commandment?
P: The reasons attached to the second commandment are God’s authority as our lawgiver, the fact that we belong to him, and the zeal he has for his own worship.

O Lord, you have mercy upon all. Take away from me my sins, and mercifully kindle in me the fire of your Holy Spirit. Take away from me the heart of stone, and give me a heart of flesh, a heart to love and adore you, a heart to delight in you, to follow and to enjoy you, for Christ's sake. Amen.

Minister: The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. He has not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. As the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those that fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Amen.
